Installation connects a factory-made aluminium system to a building that has its own tolerances, movements, control layers, and construction sequence. A professional installation begins before delivery, with approved shop drawings, surveyed openings, defined supports and fixings, safe access, protection planning, and clear responsibilities for adjacent work.

Verify the opening

The installer should confirm dimensions, level, plumb, substrate condition, embed locations, perimeter clearance, sill support, and drainage before placing the frame. Differences from the approved detail should be recorded and resolved rather than hidden with sealant or forced alignment. Frames need suitable lifting and temporary bracing to avoid distortion.

Fix, seal, and drain as detailed

Fixing type, spacing, edge distance, isolation between dissimilar materials, packers, and tightening should follow the approved design. Internal and external seals need clean, prepared surfaces and compatible materials. Weep paths and sill drainage must remain open. Perimeter membranes, flashings, fire stopping, acoustic treatment, and finishes should connect to the responsible adjacent trades.

Inspect and hand over

After installation, teams should check geometry, fasteners, seals, glass, hardware, opening force, locking, drainage, finish, and cleaning. Temporary protection should be removed at the correct stage without damaging the surface. Handover information can include operation, cleaning, maintenance, adjustment, spare parts, and warranty contacts. Project-specific structural or weather performance still requires approved engineering, testing, and site records.
